Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt has fired a co-defensive coordinator and hired a new defensive line coach to help his team. The former assistant coach Tracy Rocker has lasted just four games. Tennessee also parted ways with its offensive line coach, who had been hired earlier this year. Jimmy Brumbaugh was hired to replace Rocker and lasted just four games. Let’s take a closer look at the newest VolQuest coach.
Nico Iamaleava commits to Tennessee
Tennessee has received a commitment from five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava, the school’s highest-rated recruiting class since Josh Heupel took over. The commitment could lead to more top-level offensive players in the future. In addition to being a top-10 prospect, Iamaleava is also the third-ranked quarterback in the class of 2023. Recruiting analysts have praised his ability to escape the rush, and he has also displayed toughness against blitzes.
Despite his recent commitment to Tennessee, Nico Iamaleava’s future is uncertain. The athleticism and the tenacity that distinguishes the five-star athlete from the rest will determine whether he will get an opportunity to play college football at Tennessee. His strength, he says, is handed down from generation to generation. And, he’s certainly good enough to make the VolQuest happy.
Former Michigan quarterback Joe Milton plans to transfer to UT
Former Michigan quarterback Joe Milton has enrolled in the Tennessee directory and is actively considering a transfer. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound pro-style quarterback is one of the nation’s top passer prospects. The 2020 recruiting class includes J.J. McCarthy, a five-star prospect. UT will be losing starting quarterback Brian Maurer this spring and is also without top recruit Cade McNamara, who won the starting job last year.
After playing six games last season for the Wolverines, Milton announced his plan to transfer to Tennessee. During his final season at Michigan, he completed 80 of his 141 passes for 1,077 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 109 yards and a score. However, as the season progressed, his accuracy dipped. Milton ended up completing 80 of his 141 passes for 1,077 yards and four touchdowns, but he also had five interceptions and only two rushing touchdowns. The Michigan Wolverines finished last in the Big Ten, ranked No. 11 in rushing and sixth in passing.
Tennessee volleyball recruiting class off to a good start
With nine commits, the Tennessee volleyball recruiting class of 2023 is off to a great start. The program is ranked ninth nationally and has made a push for several top recruits, including three-star offensive tackle Ayden Bussell. This week, she spoke to VolQuest about her recruiting success and said that VolQuest is ready to compete with the best programs in the country. Listed here are her top-five recruits.
The upcoming 2020 class of recruits is looking strong, but it could still improve before the December signing period and National Signing Day in February. But Howard isn’t surprised by Tennessee’s current position. In his third season, head coach Jeremy Pruitt has built a good foundation and has a solid recruiting staff. That’s the first time in his three seasons that Tennessee is in the top-10 nationally.
Ohio State lining up to pull high Florida expertise
The latest Florida offer is out, and it is from five-star quarterback Deshaun Watson. The top quarterback in the class is expected to visit Columbus this weekend. Then Ohio State dropped an offer to five-star cornerback Desmond Ricks, a Virginia native who is attending IMG Academy. That could mean a lot of things for the Buckeyes, however. So, what does it mean to be lining up to pull high Florida expertise?
The newest recruiting class is full of interesting news for Buckeye fans. Ohio State has landed a late-night commitment from Dylan Raiola, a five-star quarterback and the No. 3 overall prospect in the class. He’ll help solve the wide receiver puzzle for Brian Hartline. The Polynesian Bowl commitment could also mean that the Buckeyes have landed a top-notch wide receiver.
